What is your shipping policy?
Once payment has been received, you will receive your number plates within 1 to 3 working days – although we do aim to dispatch them as quickly as possible. Shipping is through Royal Mail Special Delivery, which is fully tracked and insured.
Are 3D & 4D plates road legal?
Yes, our 3D & 4D plates are 100% legal as long as both the road legal text and the BS code are printed onto the plate.

(Note: “4D” is simply an industry term; they are still classed as 3D plates.)
Can I expect my number plates to be flawless?
At PlatesForYou, we make every effort to produce perfect plates every time, with a quality control process that ensures every plate is inspected before dispatch.
However, as this is a handmade custom product, in very rare cases a slight imperfection may be present.
Do I have to show you my documents to order number plates?
Yes, this is a legal DVLA requirement for all number plate suppliers.
To receive road legal plates, you must send us your original, physical ID document and entitlement document before we can produce them. This helps prevent number plate cloning and other criminal misuse.
Any company producing legal plates without checking these documents is operating illegally.
Please note: If you are ordering non-legal show plates, we do not require documents — only your chosen registration number.
How fast is same day collection?
If you’re collecting from our unit in Walsall Wood, most plates are ready in just 5–15 minutes. You can also choose to have them fitted on-site while you wait.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept card payments, bank transfer, and cash at our unit. If you’re ordering online, you can pay securely by card or bank transfer through our website checkout.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By using our website, platesforyou.co.uk, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you must not use this website or place any orders. We recommend printing or saving a copy of these Terms for your records. These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of the website after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

3. Use of Our Products
Some number plates sold via our website are Show Plates, intended for off-road use only—e.g., for display at shows, exhibitions, or on private land. Using these plates on public roads may result in legal penalties. The customer assumes all liability if such plates are used on UK highways.
4. Ordering and Product Details
Orders become bespoke upon printing the registration. At this point, they are not eligible for cancellation or refund. Products are produced as per the design and input provided by you on the Plate Builder tool. You are responsible for ensuring accuracy. Images on our website are for illustrative purposes only. Colours and proportions may differ slightly in physical products. Orders are quality-checked before dispatch. If they fail inspection, they are remade before shipping.
5. Product Amendments and Cancellations
Requests to amend an order must be made promptly. Changes are not guaranteed and may incur additional costs. We may adjust character spacing and substitute materials if necessary. Bespoke products are exempt from the statutory 14-day cooling-off period. Orders cancelled before production may be refunded, minus an admin fee of £3.99 per plate.
6. Delivery
Orders with valid documentation received before 1pm (Mon–Sunday) are processed same day. Delivery options: - Standard (non-tracked): £6.99 - Express Tracked (order by 1pm): £9.99 Saturday delivery is not guaranteed. We are not liable for courier delays, incorrectly entered delivery details, or selected delivery options. Damaged goods must be reported by email with photographs, including the Quality Control label. If a delivery attempt fails twice, the courier may destroy the goods. In such cases, replacements are not issued.
7. Returns and Refunds
7.1 Returns: We do not accept returns of number plates as they are bespoke items. Accessories (e.g., surrounds, fixings) may be returned at our discretion if: - The item is faulty upon delivery. - An incorrect item was dispatched. 7.2 Refunds: Refunds are not available for bespoke number plates. We may refund accessory items or postage at our discretion. We do not cover the cost of returns unless the error was ours. Discontinued products are not eligible for return or refund.
8. Defective Items
All products undergo Quality Control before dispatch. If a defect is found, report it within 24 hours of delivery by emailing support@platesforyou.co.uk with photographs. Claims will be reviewed by our Operations Manager or a senior representative. Their decision is final.
9. Pricing and Payment
Prices are listed on the order page and may be updated at any time. We accept major credit/debit cards and PayPal. In the event of a pricing error, we may cancel and refund your order.
10. Privacy and Data Handling
Your data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. By using our website, you agree to the practices described therein.
11. Legal Compliance and Number Plate Legislation
It is your responsibility to ensure correct and lawful use of number plates. Misuse, such as altering character spacing or misrepresenting registrations, may result in MOT failure, fines, or registration withdrawal. For full legal specifications, refer to the DVLA's regulations.
12. Warranty
We offer a 3-year warranty covering: - Delamination - Letters detaching from the plate Excludes: Fitting damage, general wear and tear, or damage caused by misuse. To claim: - Contact support@platesforyou.co.uk promptly - Provide photographic evidence and proof of purchase Replacements will be like-for-like; no financial alternatives are provided.
13. Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, logos, and trademarks are property of Phleet ltd or licensed third parties. Unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
14. Liability and Indemnity
We accept no liability for damages except where unlawful to exclude (e.g. personal injury caused by negligence). We are not responsible for losses from misuse, website downtime, or third-party issues.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You may bring legal proceedings in the appropriate UK jurisdiction based on your location.
